The Government Meteorologist issued ■the following weather summary and fojecast at j p.m.:—The squalls area ■which passed in th? south early on Wednesday morning was accompanied by high westerly winds, with a southerly tendency following. The weather has keen unsettled and showery, on the west coast especially, but the day has been fair on the east coast districts. Forecast: Present indications are for strong south-westerly winds, backing by west ■to northerly, with changeable and showery weather. The barometer will probably rise temporarily in the south.
