When questioned by the police in Melbourne one admitted having travelled over the Continent making good money. KILLED BY A CRICKET HALL. Sydney, September -23. William Joyce, aged 31, was practising bowling at the cricket nets when he was struck over the heart by a ball from another net. and expired immediately.

ACCIDENT AT .MOUNT LYELL MINE. Hobart. September 23. In the Mount Lyt>!l mine 300 tons of ore fell during crib time. Arthur Anderson and George Steele were both killed outright, and Charles Stone died later. Five other men were injured.
