NEW PLYMOUTH SOCIAL NEWS.

Bridge party.—Mrs. J. S. S. Medley gave u very enjoyable bridge party at her residence in Wallace Place last Tuesday evening. There were four tables, and the prizes were won by Mm. Percy Webster (lirst), Mrs. G. Kcbbell (second). A dainty supper was served in the dining-room, the table decorations being much admired, purple irises and yellow narcissi being the tlowera used. Mrs. Medley received her guests in a cream costume, with dainty lace blouse. Mrs. W. Jiailey wore heliotrope taffeta, veiled in beaded net; Mrs. Kebbel, black voile, with heavy lace pinafore effect; Mrs. P. Wi b-ter'. pale blue ninoii; Miss Bedford. French grey ninon. with cream lace yoke: Miss Hanna, pale pink erystaline, corsage outlined with black silk; Mrs. S. Kennell, pale blue taffeta, :biue silver sequinned chiffon shoulder scarf; Mrs. E. flilmour, black chiffon taffeta, cream lace berthe; Mrs. V. Elliott, 'black and white silk; Mrs. H. Stocker, cream cloth costume, with silk and lace blouse; Mrs. Johns, pretty bluey-grey shaugtung, cream lace yoke, finished with floral guimpe; Mrs. Kollo, saxe-blue costume, trimmed with Oriental embroidery; Miss Kirkby, cream lace robe; Mrs. T. Anderson, white muslin; Mrs. Eeid, black velvet robe, cream lace berthe; Mrs. J. Harvey, black chiffon taffeta, pale pink ninon shoulder scarf; Mrs. McDiarmid, pale'blue ninon, real lace berthe. Mrs. Lodge gave a very jolly little euchre party last Saturday, the first prize being won by Miss Brewster. The hostess received her guests in a pale blue charmeuse, veiled in cream lace; Miss Nichols, pale blue silk, with pretty draped skirt. Amongst the others were: Misses Thomson (3), Brewster, Webster and Kyngdon.

Mesdames Mathews and Aider also entertained a number of friends at bridge at the beginning of the week.
