AN ARCHITECT'S SUICIDE.

By Telegraph.-—Press Association. Marton, September 20. H. J. Edmunds, aged 59, an architect, well known about Marton, was found hanging in a shed at Turakina, owned by E. Hale. He had been missing since last Tuesday. He has a brother residing in Wanganui, and it is believed be lias a wife residing in the south. The body was discovered on Wednesday in a standing position, by an old man, who spoke, but received no answer, and informed two residents who investigated the matter on Thursday morning and found that the sash cord, by which the body was hanging, was broken. It is believed that the body bad been hanging since Tuesday night. An inquest will be held to-day.

THE MOTOR ACCIDENT.

Feilding, September 20. Yesterday evening, about 0 o'clock a serious accident took place near Waituna. E. Durrant, in a motor-car, saw E. Pearson, a farmer, cycling towards him down a somewhat steep incline. Pearson was carrying a can of milk. Though the motor gave the cyclist most of the road, Pearson swerved into the car, struck the mudguard and pitched through the glass wind-break. He was terribly cut and smashed about. He was conscious when picked up, and said that his knee must have struck the can and caused the bike to turn. Pearson, was taken to the Palmerston Hospital.

FATALITY AT WAIPIRO BAY.

Gisborne, Last Night. W. Walker, a well-known resident of Wairipo Bay, died here this morning, as the result of injuries he received through a dray, which lie was driving to Te Puia on Tuesday, toppling over a bank. In a statement, before his death, he said that some sheep jumped out and frightened the horses.
