THE WEATHER
SUMMARY AND FORECAST.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Rev. D. C. Bates issued the following weather summary and forecast at 5 p.m.:—Summary: Misty and cloudy weather has prevailed, with considerable rain, especially on the West Coast. The barometer is very low everywhere. Northerly winds, strong to a gale, have prevailed. Present indications are for high westerly winds, veering to a southerly gale. The barometer will probably fall lower in the north, but a rise is due shortly in the south, and everywhere after about twenty hours. Rain is probable generally, and some snow on the higher levels "in, the south, with colder ■weather following. A brief improvement is possible 'in the meantime in some parts of the country, but the immediate prospects are far from promising.
