—■ •»- . TARANAKI HUNT CLUB, v The Taranaki Hunt Club's meeting was held yesterday, the weather being line but the attendance very small. Although there had been large acceptances, the fields were small, and the racing was indifferent. Otaraoa made the running past the stand, and running out of the straight was well clear of Eua and Assegai. At the six furlong post- Malaphin moved up into second .place, Assegai falling back. Turning for home Otaraoa was still in command, but at the distance Malaphin and Itua threw, out, .strong challenges, and in a good race to the posts Malaphin scored by half a length, with Eua a neck away third. Utiku 11.10 (Mr. Merchant), Moerangi 10.0 (M,r., Davey), and Rangi 11.0 (Mr. Bewlcy) also started. Utiku was first away, but ran off at the second of the stand double, and Otehau went on well clear of Tnglcwood. The two cleared, right out from the held, and raced almost together till six furlongs from ' home, when Inglewood drew out and, nicely handled, woti comfortably In: l; two .lengths, with Laddie eight' lengths-awav third.
