The Hospital Board, on the chairman's casting vote, resolved on tin: appointment of a medical superintendent to control the sulsiimwlrative work at a salary of £BOO, and will invite applications in New Zealand and Australia. The Board appointed Miss Orr, matron of the Taunton Hospital, lady superintendent. DUNEDIN WATERSIDE WORKERS. Duncdin, Wednesday. A ballot hy the Duncdin waterside workers, taken to ascertain if they are ill favor of secession from the Federation of Labor, was carried hy a large majority. Imt a fresh ballot is necessary, consequent 011 an objection being raised 1,.- that the ballot-papers, us worded, were misleading.
