GISBORNE SESSIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Wednesday. At the Supreme Court Phillip Francis Allpress was sentenced to seven years' imprisonment for an indecent assault on a hoy. His Honor said he would direct medical examination as to prisoner's mental condition. A decree nisi, to he made absolute in three months, was granted in Walter John Parkinson, of Opotiki, v. Hilda Parkinson, husband's petition. A MANSLAUGHTER CASE. I Napier, September 18. The hearing of I lie charge of manslaughter against Mathias Beck was resumed in the Supreme Court to-day. Dr. Veitch, who made the post mortem, stated that the body of deceased was extensively bruised and a rib fractured. He did not think the injuries could have been sustained by a fall, j Napier, Last Night. Mathias Peter Beck was acquitted of a charge of culpable homicide in connection with the death of his wife and on minor charges.
