CONCESSIONS TO MEMBERS. By Telegraph—Own Correspondent. Wellington, Last Night. At a. time like this, when a good deal is being heard about unwarranted public concessions, it is interesting to note that further extensions are being asked for. ilr. G. W. Forbes (Hurnnui) yesterday gave notice to ask the Postmaster-Gen-eral whether he would give instructions that telegrams on public business, up to thirty-six words, from members of Parliament to Ministers, be accepted free of charge? The present regulation that collect telegrams for any Minister of the Crown are jjot accepted by the Telegraph Department places an 'unnecessary tax on members of Parliament when doing public business. NATIVE LANDS. Mr. Wilson (Taumarunui) wants to know whether the Native Minister will take steps through the Board to compel native owners to provide access to lands before they :>,rp dealt with by the Board? Note.—Land has been dealt with, and no provision for access provided. It is now becoming a very acute problem and. something must be done in this direction. MOTOR HOGS. Mr. Russell has given notice to ask the Prime Minister whether Government will introduce legislation this session providing that no person shall drive a motor ear upon any public thoroughfare unless he has passed an examination and practical test, and obtained a certificate of profktisncy? Several fatal accidents have occu-red through incompetent motor ear drivers.
