The Assembly negatived, bf 30 to 23. a motion to consider as a matter of urgency petitions from the bar and the Counsels' Incorporated Law Institute against the Meagher Reinstatement Bill. Received 18, 1 a.m. Sydney, September 17., In the Assembly. Mr. Donaldson, in moving the second reading of the Meagher Bill, said that it was a serious matter to attempt to take the step proposed, but there was no other way of re-opening the ease. Mr. Meagher could not re-submit himself to the courts. The debate is proceeding.
