PETROLEUM
TARAXAKI (X.Z.) OIL WELLS, LTD. Two skilled workmen who are being sent out by the contractors (Messrs. A. F. Craig and Co.) to supervise the erection of the refinery, should arrive in Xew Plymouth early in October. The first shipment of the rotary machinery and tools, including boiler and casing, left Xew York on August 1, and should reach here 'by the first week is October. Two experts are also due in connection with this plant, and on their arrival a site will be selected on Mr. Honeyfield's property for putting down A bore and provision made for the immediate erection of a derrick, 60 that there will be no delay in setting to work with the rotary drilling plant. The liquidators of the Taranaki Petroleum Compny .paid out a sreond dividend on ordinary shares on Saturday, the third dividend that has been paid since the company went into liquidation, two being on the ordinary shares and one on the preferential shares.
