PARIHAKA ROAD BOARD.

MONTHLY MKKTIXG. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Board was held on Thiirsdav last. Present: Messrs J. Young (chairman) Harvey, Leahy. Docker, and Willcox. Turn Road.—The action of the chairman in expediting tlie preliminary arrangement.-, of calling for tenders for tliiis road was endorsed. A committee was appointed to accept tenders and consider specifications. Tlie clerk slated that the loan money was available when required. Tlie Clerk was granted leave of absence on 17th. Provisional notice was given that the rate for the ensuing year over the rateable area be a halfpenny. FOREMAN'S REPORT. Mr J. P. Kennedy reported:—Pungarehu Road.--Re fence on road. Mr Greenway is removing fence as soon as posts arrive. Tarn Road Contract.—Have prepared specifications for same; road is laid oIT (i-l'/i chains. Tenders are called to close on Tuesday 17th. Xamu Road. —Repairs to top end have been completed. Mr Tliimphripri lias now a fair track. Opua Road.—From main road as far as Mr. Ashhy's has been repaired with broken metal, leaving the road in fair order. Bayly Road.—The cutting and rilling over -hollow lias been completed and culvert put in. Repairs to .top part have been done with gravel, j Opourapa Road.—This road has been repaired during the month and is now in satisfactory order. . Harvey Road.—Repairs to weak parts on this- road have been completed. Parihaka Road.—The weak portions on this road have been attended to. Stent Road.—Repairs from the main road, as far as Mr Sole's have been completed. Warea Road.—Repairs Have only been done to urgent parts this month; 30 yards'of -boulder stone have been carted nut by; T, 'Julian to parts where -stcuie was not ..obtainable- from pits. Whitiora Road.—.Repairs- to the worst parts- of. the .road. have, been in progress. Upper Kina Road'.—J?ipe'd culvert has been placed in, in, the place of old culvert broken down. .
