BOROUGH TRAMWAYS.
AN IMPORTANT MOVE.
Now that the greater New Plymouth scheme is an accomplished' fact, the Borough Council is determined to keep the tramways project to the fore. The Tramways Committee (the Council as a whole) has already got to work and passed the following resolution:—
"That Mr Black lie asked to visit New Plymouth to revise the report 011 tramways given by him oil September 12, 1010, together with separate estimates and reports on the following routes:—(a) From the western terminus set out in his report to the foot of the Breakwater, (b) Liardet Street from sub-station to Recreation Grounds gate, (c) Along Devon Street from Egmont Street to Cutfiold: Road,' and along that Road to St. Aubyn Street, and thence to the foot of the Breakwater, omitting- the section along' St. Aubyn street from Railway Station to Cutfiehl Road. (<1) Along Devon Street from Egmont Street to Morley Street, along Morley Street to St. Aubyn Street and thence to the foot of the Breakwater, omitting the section, along St. Aubyn Street from Railway Station to Morley Street, (e) Along St. Aubyn Street from the Railway Station to Queen Street, along Queen Street to ' Devon Street, (f) For the purposes of comparison a separate estimate to be given of that portion of the route set out in the original report along St. Aubyn Street from Railway Station to (1) Cutfield Road (2) Morley Street."
Mr Black will also be asked to report ! on the best system to be installed ir New Plymouth.
