OMATA. From our own Correspondent. Omata and the surrounding districts are looking forward to a real good time on Thursday, 2(ith inst., when the Primitive .Methodists will hold their bazaar. For several months the ladies connected with the local church have been busy miilting plain and fancy goods, and the display will be really attractive. The articles being marked very cheaply should ensure a ready sale. There will also be produce, flower, and sweet stalls. Afternoon tea will be served for the modest siim of (id. In. the evening there will be additional attractions in the shape of competitions for ladies and gentlemen. The committee will arrange for cheap return brakes from town to the Omata hall, where the 'bazaar is to be held. The object of the bazaar is a very worthy one, namely, the renovation of the church here, and we hope to see present a large number of town and country friends, I am sorry to have to-chronicle that Mrs 1). Hooker is an inmate of the New Plymouth Hospital, having undergone a serious operation, but her many friends will be glad to know that she is progressing as favorably as can be expected. Despite bad weather, mumps, chicken pox, and a- thousand and one ills the school has Iliad to contend with during the current year, the inspector's annual report is a very satisfactory one. In response to a numerously signed petition the Postal Department have decided to -establish a daily delivery of mail matter by carrier in the Spottswood and Omata districts. Commencing about the loth inslj., all those desirous of benefiting by this delivery must erect a box as receptacle for correspondence at their gates. Receiving boxes are also to be erected at several places en route, to be cleared daily by the carrier. A concert in'aid of the hall is shortly to be arranged, when, by special request, the Gipsy Camp will again be repeated.
