Mr. Hardwick, the analytical chemist who is coming out from England under engagement to the Taranaki (N.Z.) Oil Wells, Ltd., will arrive in New Plymouth to-morrow. The rotary drill and the two experts in charge are due here the first week in October. The Assistant Government District Railways Engineer was in New Plymouth yesterday on business appertaining toil 10 railway siding to the site of the refinery works, applied for by the company. All three bores are flowing as usual, and good progress is being made with the erection of the derricks and the -installation of the necessary plant at the company's property at Bell Block.
