J A PUBLICAN'S DEATH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Tuesday. George T. Race, licensee of the Farmers' Arms Hotel, who was thrown from a horse on Saturday evening, succumbed to his injuries last nigiit. A YOUTH'S SUICIDE. 1 Gisborne, Tuesday. I The body found yesterday has been < identified as that of Albert Oliver, rged 19, who was formerly on the railway works. He arrived in town some days ago, and was, it is stated, suffering from melancholia. He 'had recently been a patient in the hospital, and the other day called at the police station and asked to be locked up, as he was out of work. The evidence showed that Oliver bad been depressed, and had tried to borrow money to buy a revolver, saying that he was going to do away with somebody, and then he would do for himself. A verdict of suicide was returned.
