A COOL FORCERY.
£SOO STOLEN. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Received 10. 12.35 a.m. Sydney, September 9. Some time ago a respectably dressed woman presented a cheque for "£SOO to a city bank signed by a prominent business firm. The cheque was cashed, but has been ascertained to be a forgery. The woman has not been traced. The manager of the bank received a letter from the woman enclosing £2OO and stating that she was only the medium whereby the forgery was executed. An early arrest is expected.
