v SEMPLE'S MISTAKE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Reefton, September 5. A cause celebre occurred here to-day. R. Semple, organiser of the Federation of Labor, charged C. R. -Thornton, editor of the Inangahua Times, with using abusive language on July 9 last. Very contradictory evidence was given. The magistrate decided that Semple and his witness were mistaken, and dismissed the case. Great interest was taken, and tho court was thronged.
