SALE OF WORK.
BAPTIST CHURCIJ. j A sale of work was opened in the! Good Templar Hall yesterday afternoon, in aid of the building fund of the new Baptist Church, which is to be erected; on a site opposite the Technical School.! The hall was gaily bedecked with bunting, and the numerous stalls presented a very attractive appearance. Much in- .' terest centred round the Mission Stall,' Which contained some splendid specimens of real Indian and Ceylon handiwork. The two plain and fancy goods stalls j were also loaded with useful articles, J and the flower, sweet and Junior Endea- ■ vor stalls bespoke much for careful arrangement. .Much of the work turned out by the boys for the last-mentioned stall was highly creditable from the point of view of solid workmanship and design. All tilings considered, the fair I was a pronounced success. _ The stallj holders were as follows: J Plain and Fancy Goods (No. 1). ; Mesdames Honnor, Carthew, Hales and Elliot. Coleman, Misses Way, Carthew, Rea J and May. | Mission Stall.—Mesdames N. T and G. j 11. Maunder, and Miss Drew.
