TRAMWAY ACCIDENT
ONE MAN SUCCUMBS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hamilton, Yestreday. Further particulars of the Taringamotu accident show that at about four, o'clock yesterday afternoon a -party was being taken through some of the Tarmgamotu Sawmilling Company's bush, on the company's tramway, and when nearing the foot of a steep grade, some wild pigs ran across the line, but failed to clear it, and a collision ensuing the truck containing the passengers overturned. A number of the travellers were thrown clear. The youth, Herbert Lade, who died before reaching the hospital, was about twenty years old, and a native of Scots-, dale, Tasmania, where his parents Tesidc. The Rev. Mr. Han by had his leg brok'en, sprained his ankle badlv, and was considerably crushed about the chest. He will probably lose the limb. ' Miss McFarlaue, who was on the train at the time of the mishap, rendered first aid until medical assistance .was obtained. The injured were hrought to Frankton, joining the Main Trunk express. Lade died on the train at 1.12 a.m.
