SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Kev. D. C Bates (Government Meteorologist) issues the following report.— Summary: A cyclonic system still rules north, and heavy rain has fallen northward of East Cape and Kawhia. Easterily winds, strong to gale, have been reported in the north. Gloomy weather and moderate to strong easterly to south-easterly breezes have prevailed elsewhere and a falling barometer everywhere. Forecast: Present indications are for easterly winds, strong to gale, backing to southerlies in most parts of the country. Cloudy and unsettled weather, with rain, are probable generally, and especially on the east coast and in the northern districts of the North Island. The barometer still shows a falling tendency, but is due to rise everywhere 60011.
