THE LADIES' TOURNAMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Nelson, Last Night. Glorious weather prevailed for the continuation of the ladies' golf championship tournament. The fourth round of the championship produced easy wins for Misses Collins and Pearce, whereas Mrs. Slack and Miss Wood, and Mrs. Williams and Miss Burnes had- tremendous struggles, which caused great excitement. 'Phe wins of Mrs. Slack ihave been hard fought for, and the victory of Miss Barnes over Mrs. Williams was after a brilliant finish. The .bogey senior handicap was won bv Miss Tweed, 2 up. In the junior handicap Mrs. McLean and Miss Davies tied with 4 down. To-mor-row semi-finals will he played, Miss Collins meeting Mrs. Slack, and Miss Pearce meeting Miss Burnes. The results today were as follows: CHAMPIONSHIP. THIRD ROUND. Miss Collins beat Miss Snodgrass, 5 up and 3 to play. Mrs. Slack boat. Miss Wood, 1 up on the twentieth hole. It was resolved that tho championship be held not earlier I hail September, -and that the centre holding it notifv at the previous annua! meeting the date 011 which it will begin: that the inter-Tsland contest be played •by match play,nine a-side; that in future the draw for partners in handicap events at the championship meeting be arranged in three grades, vis;.. 0 to 12, 13 to'2o. and over 20, instead of the present grading of 0 to 15. and over 15. The date of the next championship W as fixed for September 10. 1013. at Napier, and the date -of the Coromtion Medal Handicap for the last Friday in Mar. The secretary's report shows that'the affiliated clubs -had increased from 32 to 38, with a membership of 2500. Last year's credit-balance was £2O 10s 9d. and this yoar s £ls ;>,s 9d. tlie apparent decrease being owing to the cost of last year'? medals coming into this year's account.
