SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Pre3B Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Rev. D. C. Bates (Government Meteorologist) issues the following report:— Summary: Increasing cloudiness nas prevailed, with rain in the northern districts and much mist and fog on the oast coast of the South Island.} Easterlywinds have predominated and increased especially in the north, where the barometer has fallen considerably. Forecast: Present indications are for easterly winds, strong to gale in and northward of Cook Strait, and moderate to strong elsewhere. The weather will probably be cloudy and unsettled generally, "with rain in most parts of the country, and heavy rain is to be expected in the northern and eastern districts of the North Island. The barometer is very unsteady and likely to fall everywhere.
