THE EGMONT SEAT.
MR. WILKINSON AT KAPONGA. The Reform candidate, Mr, C. A. Wilkinson, addressed about 140 electors at Kaponga on Saturday evening. Mr. A. Jury (chairman of the Town Board) presided. The candidate's speech was on similar lines to his address at Eltham the previous evening, criticising the administration of the Party recently put out of office, the platform of Reform, and the legislative proposals of the Massey Government, also his advocacy of other desirable measures for the general welfare of the people and country. Questions were dealt with to the evident satisfaction of the audience, and a vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Wilkinson on the motion of Messrs. G. Death and Alllmsen. Two fairly strong committees were afterwards formed to advance Mr. Wilkinson's interests, Mr. A. V. Tait being selected chairman, and Mr. Waugh secretary for the men's section, and Miss Power president of the ladies' section.— Contributed.
