FARMERS' UNION.

PROPOSED CONTROL OF PROPERTY SALES. By Telegraph—Prefis Association. Pahiatua, Last Night. A special meeting of the Pahiatua Central branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union will be held here to-morrow for the purpose of considering the advisability of the sale and exchange of fanning properties being conducted through the local branch of the Union. It is claimed that if the scheme were adopted, an immense saving in percentage in commission would be exacted; also that prospective buyers would receive sounder and more reliable information from union ollicials in connection with various properties submitted for their inspection. The scheme would also inspire confidence amongst buyers. Prominent farmers have expressed themselves in very favorable terms to the proposal, and a very large gathering is anticipated.
