Bishop Welldon, in a church service, advised tliem not to mix the policy of trade unionism with half-digested socialist theories. Mr. "Will Thome, addressing a mass meeting, declared that Bishop Welldon did not know what he was talking aoout. Socialism and trade unionism were economically inseparable. Bishop Welldon spoke for his class —the idle church who robbed the workers.
