' The Taviuni sailed from Wellington ■ yesterday for New Plymouth, via Nel-' son, and is due here to-morrow. She , brings a cargo of about COO tons. THE IHUMATA. Mr. Newton King has received advice that the Ihumata left Sydney on Saturday for New Plymouth, and is due here about Friday. THE KARAMU. The Karamu, which is to leave Dunedin to-morrow for New Plymouth, via way ports, was formerly the Harmony, and when taken over by the Union Company was re-christened the "Karamu." She arrived at Dunedin last Tuesday on her maiden voyage under her new ownership. She is a sister ship to the Kowhai, but is an improved model, and is eight tons larger. On her trials she averaged a speed of 11% knots. The vessel presents a somewhat singular appearance, with her foremast stuck up for'ard on the foc'sle head. The Karamu has a length of 205 ft breadth 32ft, depth loft. Her net tonnage is 485, and gross 934.
