CLATM FOR COMPENSATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hokitika, Saturday. For the past throe days the Warden (Mr. Hewitt) and five assessors have been engaged at Stafford hearing a claim by the widow of 'B. P. Heil for £2OOO damages against the Wheel of Fortune Company, owing to the death of her husband in the company's claim last year. Negligence has been alleged in the working operations of the elevator. The hearing was concluded yesterday, the jury returning a verdict for £036. Consideration of a law point involving the right of the plaintiff to sue on her own miner's right was deferred.
