HOCKEY.
CI-IRIS TCHUI'CIT TOURNAMENT. Fourteen teams have entered for the New Zealand ladies' hockey championsliip tournament, which will co7nmence at Christchurch on Saturday next. Tho teams have been divided into two sections, as follows:—A: Nelson, Manawatu, Taranaki. Poverty Bay. Otago, Canterbury B and Wairarapn. B: Wellington, Canterbury A, West Coast, Havvke's Bay, Buller, Auckland, and Waliganui. Taranaki's matches are as follows: Saturday, Sept. 7, v. Poverty Bar; Monday, 9th., v. Otago; Tuesdav, ioth., v Wairarapa; Wednesday, llt'h., v. Canterbury B; Thursday, 12th., v. Manawatu: Friday, 13th.,'v. Nelson; Saturday, 14th., a bye. The final between the winners of the two sections will be played on Monday, September 10.
