DISTRICT NEWS.
LINCOLN ROAD. (From Our Own Correspondents). A euchre party and dance was held in the school on Tuesday night last in aid of the school fund?. Although not a financial success, it proved a very enjoyable evening to those present. The .first prizes were won by Mr. J. Storring and Mrs. J. W. Henwood, while for seeond prizes Mr. Fred KnofFlock and Miss Lily Storring werti successful. Messr* F. Julian and P. Lawson provided excellent 1 music for the dance. The Rev. Mr. Gnffin delivered anothe* of his addresses on "Love, courtship and marriage" last week. The rev. gentleman handles this subject in a very interesting manner, and a few more addresses of this sort would do good. Our creamery starts running again in a day or two, as the cows are now coming in fast. Mr. Broadinore, of luglewood, has been appointed manager. Land is still on the rise in this district, but, comparatively" speaking, it is still below its real value. Two farms have recently changed hands on the Everett road at £ls and £l3 10s per awe respectively. The weather experienced during the last week or so is making everything look green again, and spring is now really here. Plum trees are already blossoming.
EGMONT VILLAGE. The children's ball, held last Friday night, was a greater success than wag anticipated, thanks to a fine night and an energetic committee.
