; SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Presa Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Department issued the following summary and forecast at 5 p.m.:—Summary: The barometer has fallen everywhere, but is now showing a rising tendency at the BluiT. Northerly winds have prevailed, moderate to strong generally, but with gale-s in a few parts of the South Island. Cloudy and gloomy ■weather has prevailed, with rain in many parts of the country. Forecast: Present indications are for oloudy and unsettled weather, with rain in all parts of the country. The barometer will probably continue to fall in the north, but a rise may be expected in the south, though indications arc not yet definite, and the barometer is unsteady. The winds will probably be variable and strong in parts, northerlies predominating in the North Island, and east to south-easterly winds in the South Island.
