-RAILWAY TRAFFIC HELD UP. DAMAGE TO CROPS. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Received 27. 10.45 p.m. London, August 27. Floods severed the Norwich railway communication, and the express was held up at Kingslynn. Other trains are at a standstill, the floods having extinguished the engine fires. The branch railways at Mumiesley, Sherringham and Cromer are closed. The valley of the Nene is flooded, and Thrapsten has been transformed into an island. At Corby the tunnel is inundated. Yesterday the rainfall was six inches at Norwich. Two Eastern Coast whcil exporters from Bristol motored through the wheat districts. Every fields shows out badly, and is irretrievably damaged. The conditions are equally bad at Vale, and at the tops of the Cotswolds, due to several days' rain, with a higher temperature.
