SUILUAIIY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. • Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Department published the following summary and forecast at 5 p.m. to-day:— Summary— The barometer has fallen steadily in the south and is unsteady elsewhere. Cloudiness has extended over many parts of the Dominion, and showers have fallen ■bout Foveaux Strait, but fair weather has prevailed. Strong northerly winds prevail over the .South Wand .tnd vanable breezes in the north. Forecast.— Present indications are for strong westerly winds northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and northerlies, strong to a gale, elsewhere. A westerly storm area is now apparently developing on the Tasman Sea. Expect increasing cloudiness with rain following generally, but especially on the West Coast and in Bonthern districts. The barometer will probably fall everywhere and be low in the south.
