A DEFAULTING SECRETARY.
By Telcjrapk.—Press Assoeiati»n. Dannevirke, Monday. A warrant lias been issued for the arrest of the late secretary of the local Ruahine Lodge, U.A.0.D., for alleged theft of lodge moneys.
THE OLYMPIC GAMES. Wellington, Monday. A meeting of the Olympic Council reported that £3O liad been forwarded to Australia, making a total of £2BO 011 account of Hill and Champion. The New Zealand Swimming Association has forwarded £i> for Champion's expenses, making a total of £75, and asked the council accept it as a, final payment. It was pointed out that £IOO was expected, but it was decided to take no further steps till the final accounts were received, A resolution was passed in favor of collecting an annual fee of say sixpence from each member of sports clubs interested to establish n permanent fund. A motion to treat New Zealand as a separate nationality was deferred.
A'CHARGE OF FORGERY. Dunedin, Monday. Frederick William ■ Schluter has' been arrested in connection with 'six charges of forgery and uttering. He was remanded for a week. Wnen arrested, accused had a loaded revolver in his possession.
