GAMBLING DEN RAIDED.
A FIERCE CONFLICT. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Received 25, 5.5 p.m. Lisbon, August 24. The police raided a gambling den at Chaves, frequented bv smugglers and bandits. A fierce conflict ensued, i-ive men were killed and fourteen wounded. A sum of £6500 was seized, and 40 arrests made.
