'■ Messrs. C. and L. Winks, of the Argentine, are at present on a holiday visit to the Hawera district. Mr. H. B. Armitage, manager of the Waiuku branch of the National Bank, is on a short visit to New Plymouth. The Rev. R. S. Gray, of Oxford Tearace Baptist Church, Christchurch, announced at yesterday morning's service that he had accepted an invitation to the Hanover Street Baptist Church, l>unedin. He will not begin his ministry in Dunedin until the New Year. The death occurred on Saturday of Mr. Alfred William Moore, of Devon street east, a very old resident of New Plymouth, at the advanced age of 79 years.. The deceased is survived by his wife, one son, one married daughter (Mrs. Hobbs, of Stratford), and two other daughters. The funeral will be 'held at 11 o'clock to-morrow morning.
