(Conducted by "Eileen.") ORANGE BLOSSOMS ROGKRS-O'CALLAGHAN. A pretty wedding was solemnised in the Te liemii Church last Wednesday afternoon, when Hiss Gwendolen O'Caihighan, youngest daughter of Mr. W. 11. 1). O'Callaghan, late of Dunedin, was married to Dr. T. Rogers, late of Blenheim, but now practising in Hamilton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Wilkinson, assisted by Rev. J. A. Kempthorne. Dr. James O'Callaghan, of Napier, acted as best man. The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly robed in ivory satin, draped in ninon, heavily einboridered in pearls, with a pearl and brilliant girdle. bhe wore a real crown of orange blossoms, over which fell a lovely Limerick lace veil, and she carried an exquisite shower bcuquet. The bridesmaids were Miss Adams, of Dunedin, and Miss Rogers (sister of the bridegroom), of Blenheim, and their dresses were of white satin, with chiffon tunics, caught up on the skirt with pale pink chiffon roses, and wore black tagel straw hats, trimmed with pale pink roses, and carried pale pink shower bouquets. They wore long silver chains, gifts of the bridegroom. Two tiny mites also attended the bride, Miss Peggy and Master Wynn Griffiths, the former being daintily robed in white book muslin, with satin bands, and the latter as a page in white satin. The happy couple left that afternoon by motor en route to Hamilton. NEW PLYMOUTH SOCIAL NEWS A Dance.—The pupils of the High School gave a very enjoyable dance last Friday evening; two large class-rooms being utilised for the occasion. A most sumptuous sit-down supper was served while the floral decorations comprised masses of spring flowers. Excellent music was rendered by Mrs. A. i Bridge.—Last Wednesday evening Mrs J. Hempton gave a very enjoyable bridge , party. The prizes were won by Mrs. j Percy Webster (first) and Mrs. Mills J (second). Euchre party.—A most appropriate finale was given by Mrs. Home to the guests who attended Miss O'Callaghan's wedding, on Wednesday evening last, it I 'king the form of a euchre party. There were seven tables, and the prizes were won by Mrs. Courtney and Mr. B. Whiteombc. The hostess received 'her guests in a lovely oyster-grey satin charmeuse. finished with dainty cream lace and pale blue floral embroidery; Miss Wade, palo blue charmeuse, trimmed with Oriental trimming; Misses Rogers and Adams wore their dainty bridesmaid's frocks; Mrs. E. Griffiths, cream silk and lace robe; Mrs. B. Griffiths, pale blue silk; Miss D. Whiteombe, dainty pale blue and white striped silk muslin over white; Miss S. Thompson, reseda green taffeta, finished with dull gold guinine; Mrs. Sladden, black silk; Miss Mathews, rose-pink shangtung silk, piped with black; Miss Renaud, white silk, veiled in silver net; Miss G. Shaw, rose-pink satin, veiled in silvered chiffon; Mrs. Courtney, black silk, white lace shoulder scarf; Mrs. Rogers, grey chiffon taffeta. PERSONAL ITEMS. Misses G. Bewley, M. Glasgow and 0. Leathani left by Friday morning's tram for Nelson to attend the golf tournament. Mr. W. Pierce, of Temuka, who has been the guest of Mrs. Roy, has gone for a trip to Rotorua. Miss Lulu McAllum, who has been on the nursing staff of the Hamilton Hospital, has returned home to New Plymouth. Mrs. M. Eraser is on a visit to Auckland. Mr. Bedford, senr., has gone for a short trip to Auckland. Miss Mabel Clarke, of Auckland, is the guest of Mrs. Henderson, Moturoa. Mrs. and Miss G. Dodgshun, who have been visiting New Plymouth for some months, return to Gisborne on Tuesday next. ■ flis Lordship.
