COMBUSTIBLES IN A MINE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Friday. Before Mr. Bartholomew, S.M., at Kaitangata yesterday, two miners named Walters and Varcoe were charged with unlawfully having in their possession lucifer matches, tobacco and a pipe in a certain part of the Kaitangata mine, where safety lamps were required to be used. Walters was convicted and lined £5 and £4 ll?s costs.
