A SENATORIAL PROTEST. • By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Washington, August 20. Senator Bacon initiated a debate in the Senate, accusing the United States of interfering with Nicaragua. He condemned the preparation to send troops towards Nicaragua, and declared that the same results were certain to follow in Nicaragua as in Mexico. He did not believe the personal interests of a few United States citizens ought to drive the country to war.
