Reporting on the. receipt of cabled advices from London, he states that .750 tons of New Zealand cheese had been secured by certain firms on consignment at an advance with recourse, -and had already been sold forward for future delivery "at 05s and .66s per cwt, c.i.f. MATTHEWS, REPORT. Matthews, Bennett and Co. report that there was a fair yarding of cattle in their Inglewood yards on Wednesday last. Springers were a shade easier, but everything else was cleared at late rates. Prices as follows .—Springing heifers £6 10s to £8 ss,'springing cows £5 to £7 10s, inferior do. £3 10s to £4, store cows £3 8s to £3 12s <Sd, mixed year-, lings .£2 4s to £2 9s 6d, bulls £2 10s to £3 ss, hoggetts 13s. GILLIES AND NALDER'S REPORT. Messrs. Gillies and Nalder, Hawera, report that, favored by excellent weather, they had a larger yarding than usual on Thursday, August 22, and a spirited sale resulted, The firm announced thatat next sate they would provide a luncheon at the yards, in their new building. This departure will be much appreciated by clients, and further enhance the popularity of the yards. Mr. Keen has undertaken the catering. The following sales were effected:— Twenty hoggets 13s 10J/73 hoggets 12s 2d, 200 wethers lfis 7d, 111 wethers 16s fld, 195 wethers 18s 3d, 47 ewes 12s 9d, 343 hoggets 13s 3d, 50 hoggets lis 6d. 99 wethers 12s 3d, 23 hoggets 14s 3d, 30 steers £6 10s, 29 steers £6 lis, 18 cows £2 17s, 8 bullocks £7 JOs, 19 yearling heifers £3, 10 yearling heifers £4Is Od, 22 steers £5 12s, 13 steers £5 12s Od, 55 2y 2 -year steers £5 6s, 50. 2-year steers £4 Is, 10 yearlings £2 15s, 44 yearling heifers £2 Ps Od. In addition, 125 empty cows were sold, 38 at £3 15s, and'odd lots from 30s to £4 15s. Also 50 springing cows and heifers were sold in the dairy pens up to, £|o 10s,
