EMPIRE,PICTURE PALACE. r The popularity of the Empire Theatre was again well* exemplified last night. The building was packed by a happy and enthusiastic audience, who were lavisk in their praise of the many fine films screened. As on the previous evening, the splendid Nordisk production, "Lov« in the Tropics," captivated one and all witli its fairy-like scenes, its magnificent acting, and the perfectly human plot which the story reveals. Another star feature film of quite another sort, but equally interesting, was "The Mouarcha of the Prairies." In this thrilling production the audience is given an insight into the daily life of the cowboy of the> Western plains. Stage coach racing,, bull-dogging steers (the most dangerousof all cowboy pastimes), riding buffalo and wild steers are all included in ih'm< lengthy series, which for novelty audi I thrill cannot be surpassed. In addition". to these two star items, several other' excellent subjects were shown, notably:: "The Hobo" (American tramp), an exeopdinjrlv novel retrospect of humanity bv t!ie Selig Co., portraying the degenerating influence of draink, and the innat* nobleness of man; "Oaumont Graphic," '•English Derby," and "Pathe Gazette" were also shown. The same programme will be repeated for the last time tonight.
