Messrs. tiilmour and Clarke report {fee sale of sections at Dartmoor to Messrs. Giant, Gardiner, Mrs. Beale, Mr. Wilson; also Mr. Good&cre's property on the Eliot road, and Mr. "Webster's property on the Carrington road. On the front page of this issue will be found particulars of a furniture sale to be conducted by Nolan and Co., on Friday, at Mrs. H. C. Day's residence, Vogeltown. The attention of our readers is called to a further interesting replace advertisement inserted by Mr. A. George and dealing with bicycles. The announcement appears in to-day's issue. A "snip" in carpets came Mr. C. N. Johnson's way the other day, and these lovely Brussels squares are being offered at savings of from £2 10s to £3 10s during his stock-taking sale. Every line of furnishing in' the finest furniture stock in Taranaki is greatly reduced in price.
The announcement of the last days of the Melbourne's great reduction sale has brought a rush of shoppers to take final advantage of the sale offerings. Many remnants and odd lots are being offered at ridiculously low prices to clear. This week Morev and Moore's, King street, is displayed a very special lot of linen goods in tray cloths, runners, squares, sideboard cloths, table centres, etc., from Is each. English sample goods to order from any new designs. Ambury's sale has been an unqualified success and their big reduction prices have now terminated, and annual stocktaking is now in full swing. As the staff goes through the departments all oddments are turned out, and for a few days these oddments, including trimmed millinery, a few winter costumes, coats and blouses, can be secured at and far below half price, and a table of remnants will be cleared at heavy reductions to make room for big shipments of spring goods to arrive.
Country residents will do well to write for some of the bargains in baby linen clearing at White and Sons. Many lines in robes, slips, gowns, flannels, etc., are reduced by half. Money returned in full if not pleased. Mention price wanted when ordering. We have a big range to choose from.
