THE WEATHER
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Department issued the following weather summary and forecast at 5 p.m.;— The weather has been generally fair, with .showery weather on the West Coa»t of the South laland, and squally at times in Fovcaux straits; moderate to strong westerly winds have predominate. The 'barometer is high .•-vrywhere, but showing a falling tendency. Forr-ast: Present indications are for increasing northerly and westerly winds, fair to cloudy weather, unsettled on the west coast and southern districts of the South Island, •nd a slowly decreasing barometric pressure.
