BUSINESS NOTICES.

Particulars of a Whakataiie property advertised in the News for the past few days, have just come to hand, and may ■be perused at the News office. Following upon a special exhibition of a few of the new season's spring millinery models, Messrs. Calvert and Co. are now showing quite a large importation of Chips, Tagels, and Leghorns, amongst them the popular new style, the "Simshine Girl." Other novelties for spring are .also on view, and we commend lady readers to the advertisement on page 0. The subject of table damasks and serviettes is dealt with by Morey and Son in their replace announcement. The Taranaki Road Race is creating 'un,usual interest this year, and no doubt quite a large number of local cyclemen will follow for some distance, at least, when the event takes place. Emery and Co., the cycle people, offer just one word of warning—see to the tyres, and in today's issue on page 8 make a special price offer in all the best makes. One great feature of the Melbourne's great reduction sate now on has been the persistent demand and sale of nven's high grade suits. This period of the year is generally considered to be the "off" season for such goods, but the abnormal demand may bo accounted for by the remarkable reductions offered during the .sale. This week at Morey and Moore's, King street, is displayed a very special lot of I linen goods in tray cloths, runners, , squares, sideboard cloths, table centres, etc., from Is each. English sample goods [to order from any new designs.

l&mbury's sale lias been an unqualified success and their big reduction prices have now terminated, and annual stocktaking is now in full swing. As the staff goes through the departments all oddments are turned out, and for a few days these oddments, including trimmed millinery, a few winter costumes, coats and blouses, can be secured at and far below half price, and a table of remnants will be cleared at heavy reductions to make room for big shipments of spring goods to arrive. Country residents will do well to write for some of the bargains in baby linen clearing at White and Sons. Many lines in robes, slips, gowns, flannels, etc., are reduced by half. Money returned in full if not pleased. Mention price wanted when ordering. We have a big range to choose from.

An up-to-date and reliable Wolseley car for hire any hour of the day or night. Prompt service and careful driving—A. N. Morey, Central Motor Garage, Egmont street. Garage 'phone, 355; private 'phone 14 (Gover street).
