' The steadier feeling which l i became. manifest last week has been,,well'!maintained, and with the weather suddenly turning very not, best grades are a shade dearer. ' ' >' •. ■■'' ~.' , Danish: The quotation has been raised two kroner, and shipments and arrivals are stiil less than at the same period last year. ■ ' '' Siberian: Arrivals this week total about 18.000 casks, and there>has been a good demand for the best quality, which lins- cleared, but seconds are rather slow of sale, although prices are easier. Cables to hand report that great heai now prii-y vails, and this generally lias the effect; of spoiling a large percentage of the butter, owing to the difficulties bf transport. ' ' ; / ■ French: Although there is a good production, the markets in France are very active on account of the excellent home demand. Irish: Supplies are not quite so heavy as they "wj're. and if this Ileat continues, they will soon show a material, reduc-" j tion. < Australian and New Zealand: There has not been quite so much business this week in cni.mial butter as last,, although there is a little enquiry all the time, but the majority of butters that are here in stor: 1 art. :< little below best quality, which is mostly what is,demanded just at I he pnsnit time. Cheese.- Tne New Zealand cheese ex s.s. Corimhie do no show the usual fine quality, but this is only to be expected when one considers Ihe time of year at which ibey were made. Trade is slow, but as New Zealand cheese is still realising more 'ban Canadian, the position iis fairlv satisfactory.
