Pwmett and Co. iei>o:s that there was a fair yarding of cattle in their Jnglcwood yards on Wednesday last. Prices were good and nearly every lot changed hands. Yearling steers made £2 4fl fid to £2 lis fid, yearling heifers £2 7s fid to £2 12s Od, store cows £2 to £3 10s, springing heifers £0 to £B, springing cows £5 to £B, steers £3 3s, fat cows £(! 7s Od, fat wethers 19a 5d to 20s Id, hoggets 13s' Od. SOUTHERN MARKETS. ADDINGTON.
At Addington there were very small entries of stock, and a fair attendance. There was no change in values of store or fat sheep, and no fat lambs were offered. There was a sharp rise in fat cattle.
Store sheep—Six and eight-tooths made 22s to 23s (id (the latter price being paid for a line of purebred sheep), sound-mouth ewes of good class 20s 3d to 21s i>d, inferior* ewes and culls 12s 9d to Us, inferior 2-tooth ewes oft' high country (small and in low condition) 10a, and a few dry ewos (inferior) 8s to 12s lid, ewe hoggets 10s to 17s Cd, wether hoggets 14s to los, extra to 15s Bd, inferior mixed hoggets 10s to lis Sd, 4 and 6-tooth halfbred wethers 17a 9d, inferior 2-tnoths in low condition 4s 3d.
Fat sheep—Prime wethers 22s to 255, a few extra to 275, others 18s 9d to 20s lid, prime ewes 18s Gd to 245, a few extra to 275, others 15s lOd to 18s 2d, merino ewes 14s Id to 15s.
Fat cattle—Yearlings 30s to £2 10s, 15 to 18-moiiths sorts £3 7s Qd to £4 2s, 2-year steers £4 15s, 2-year heifers £4 4s, 3-year steers £7 7s Od, cows £2 10s to £5 17s Od.
There was a fair yarding of dair,y cows, many being of better quality than at recent markets. All met with a keen demand, the better sorts being in great request. Prices ranged from £5 to £ll. Fat pigs—Choppers to £5 ss, heavy baconers Css to 70s, lighter 50s to SC» (equal to oi/jd per lb); best porkers 43s to 47s fid, lighter 35s to 40.s (equivalent to 514(1 per lb). JOHNSONVILLE. At Johnsonville a good yarding of extra prime bullocks and a full yarding of sheep came forward and sold'readily at la te rates. Prime heavy bullocks £ll to £ll 7s Od and £lO 15s to £lO 17s Od, prime bullocks £lO to £lO 10s, lighter £9 to £9 12s fid, prime wethers 24s 3d to 24s Gd, medium ewes ISs, lambs lis 7d to 13s.
