PAYMENT OF MEMBERS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, August 16. The Assembly passed the first reading of a Bill to raise the salaries of members of the House to £SOO per annum. THE CAPITAL SITE. Received IG, 11.10 p.m. Melbourne, August 18. In the House the discussion on Mr. Wynne's motion in favor of a referendum on the question of the Capital site disclosed that Interstate jealousy was unabated. The New South Wales members rigorously condemned another attempt to secure the capital in Victoria. The debate was adjourned to August 29.
