L. A. XOLAX & CO.'S RErORT. Poultry.—Our pens wore well filled on Saturday, and every line offered met with spirited competition, table birds particularly being in keen demand. Prices were as follows: —Hens (ordinary) Is "d to Is lid, fat '2s Id to 2s lOd, pullets '2s 5d to 3s Gd, cockerels (small) 9d to Is 3d, forward 2s Id to 2s 9d, roosters Is 7d to 2s 3d, p.b. do. 3s 9d to 4s 3d, ducks 2s to 2s Bd, turkey hens os to' as fid.
Til the mart we disposed of a large catalogue of shrubs and furniture at satisfactory prices.
Fruit.—The. market still continues very dull for most lines oll'ering. We quote: Apples (Sturmers) 7s Gd to Ss Gd, Dohertys 8s to 9s, Rokewoods 7s to Bs, cookers 6s to (is (id. oranges (re-packs) lis to 12s, bananas (ripe) 2%d per lb. On Wednesday we held <a clearing sale on account of Miss Searle, of Fitzroy. There was a large attendance and prices were very satisfactory.
WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Poultry.—At the mart on Saturday our pens were well filled with birds of ail classes. Prices were well maintained as under:—Hens (fat) Is Gd to 2s sd, young 2s 3d to 2s 9d, pullets (young) Is <Jd to 2s lid, forward 3s 3d to 4s 6d, cockerels (young) Is 5d to is 9d, fat 2s Gd to 3s, ducks 2s Gd to 3s. drakes 2s 5d to 2s lOd, ducklings lOd each, chicks 6d to 9d, p.b. brown Leghorn cockerels 5s (id, white Leghorn Gs 3d. The usual line of shelter trees, shrubs, hedge plants and autcion .sundries realised satisfactory prices. iruit.—During the week we have handled large quantities of apples, oranges and bananas. We quote: Bananas (ripe) 3d lb, oranges (re-pacTts) 13s Gd to 14s Gd, apples (cookers) 5s Gd to 7s, best colored desserts 7s Gd to 9s Gd, lemons 4s Gd to 7s fid, passion fruit Gd dozen, walnuts Sy 2 d lb, peanuts 2%d lb.
