A RELIC OF A TRAGEDY. By Telejjraph—Press A«e*ei»ti«a. Timaru, Last Night. Some weeks ago two men were drowned from a motor launch at the Waihaosnouth. One body was recovered at once, but the other, that of a young man named Duncan, was not found.* Yesterday an arm and a foot were found on the beach at Jack's Point, many miles north of the Waihao, and the boot was identified l as Duncan's. DEATH FROM HEART FAILURE. Timaru. Last Night. William Martin, for the last twentyyears or so manager of G. & T. Young's jewellery business here, diopped dead from heart failure, while engaged in conversation in the street. He leaves ti widow, a son (who is studying medicine at Otago University) and a daughter, who assisted in the business. FOUND DROWNED. Wellington, Last Night. The 1 dead body of a man was found floating in Evans' Bay yesterday. It has been identified as that of Frank Thomas Pellet, a bootmaker who lived at Ngaio. The deceased, who was 41 years of age, had been missing since July 18. An inquest was held, and a verdict of "Found drowned" returned. WOMAN CUTS HER THROAT. Auckland, Last Night. Susanah Atkinson, aged 28 years, wife of Jabez Atkinson, a gardener in, the employ of the City Council, committed suicide at Khyber Pass to-night by cutting her throat with a carving knife. Deceased left a few lines saying that her husband was in no way to blame. No reason can be assigned for the woman's rash act, but it is understood that she was very delicate and suffer- ' ing from insomnia. About 18 months ago it is stated that she made a sirmlar attempt on her life, but recovered after treatment at the hospital. Deceased leaves two little girls, aged live and ten years respectively.
