The Equity Court cast 1 , wherein an exOovernment engineer sought for an adjustment of accounts m a contract in which lie had Wen a partner with the contractor ill certain public works drew strong comments from Mr. Justice Rich, lie quoted authorities that in such a case interest conflicted with duty, and added that it was no part of -the duty of a court of justice to aid either the carry ing out of an illegal contract or dividing the proceed* thereof. A person entering into a reprehensible contract of this kind could expect no relief from a court of equity.
